Spring is in the air.......

....or is it? Check out the fog at about 8 o'clock this morning, very sleepy hollow wouldn't you say? Zoe is up at the ski hill for her last cross country outing with her school today, she has really enjoyed the experience and I think we will have to try to squeeze some more trips in somewhere before the end of winter.

I had a little wander around the yard after taking this pic and noticed some little tulip friends peeking out of the wet soil.......I'm starting to feel a little spring fever now.

Checked on Mika, chopper and diesel (our goat family), if they could talk I'm positive they would say "Isn't there anything else to eat around here other than hay?"

Poor little guys...glad I'm human!

This is why I was blessed with girls......

I know, I know, I'm supposed to be cleaning the basement kitchen. I don't know why I get distracted so easily. I found this great fabric while I was tidying up and remembered a tutorial I had seen @ wise craft and had to whip up one of these cute flowers for a headband. Next time I'll make them a little smaller...or wait for Marley to get bigger.

I could make hundreds or thousands of these and embellish EVERYTHING!!!!

I have stacks of fabric all over the place, I'm sure I can find a better use for them but for now, this works.

Check out this tutorial if you would like to make some of your own.

The Jam Factory

This is my basement kitchen as it looks right now. Scary eh? I am hoping to get it shiny and new looking and set up as my canning room. I have lots to do in there but with a little elbow grease and some smart storage I would like to see this room being used as a functioning kitchen and no longer a storage room. If anyone has any ideas, please share your wisdom with me.
I will post some before and after photos when my mission is accomplished.
We didn't get much from our fruit tree's last year but I'm hoping and praying for a better yield this year so I can get my preserves out there. Farmer's market is a good option right now for selling jams and stuff. So wish me luck!

Bubblegum toes

Like all good mummies do , I put my kids to bed at a reasonable hour, I was able to squeeze in a quick work out and a hot tub before bed. Somwhere in between that and my shower, Marley had wandered in her slumber and resituated herself on the couch and returned to sleep. Ahhh, what a little angel........ all is well in the Simpson household....until!!
